FenCon this weekend, Sept. 17-19

It seems that the summer of 2010 has sneaked away under cover of daylight (burning hot, 100-degree daylight) and it’s once again time for FenCon.

FenCon is “A Fan-Operated Science Fiction and Fantasy Literary and Filk Convention in the Dallas/Fort Worth Area” with lots of cool guests including myself and Angeline Hawkes (she much cooler than me), plus panels, dealers, fans, and beer. This is the convention’s seventh year, with Guest of Honor Spider Robinson and the inimitable Joe R. Lansdale serving as this year’s Toastmaster.

Angeline and I will have an author’s table outside the dealer’s room, on the balcony under the atrium. If you make it out, please stop by and say hello.

My schedule for the weekend looks like this:

SATURDAY 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM Addison Lecture Hall
Natural Disasters in Fiction: How Can We Solve the Zombie Virus?

SATURDAY 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM Gallery

SATURDAY 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM Trinity 6
Sword & Sorcery Movies. They’re Back!

SATURDAY 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM Trinity 3
The King Effect: Modern Horror in Fiction

For full descriptions, manifests, and more information, please visit the FenCon website.

Angeline’s schedule is posted on her blog at . We’ll be at our table all day on Sunday. I’ll also be posting some book news here in the next few weeks. We’ve been busy.
